Why Classification?

What is Classification

LexisNexis PatentSight+ uses Classification powered by Cipher, which uses AI to read all the 44m+ patents globally and pull the relevant patents into your classifier. The classifier is defined by you and the machine does all the hard work of going and finding the right patents. The machine can read more than 60 million patents an hour and looks at 200,000 data points in the patent.
How does Classification work
Firstly, you define the scope of the technology area for your classifier.
Secondly, the classifier is trained by using a training set of patents that should be in the classifier and those that shouldn’t be included.
Thirdly, you review and use extra information such as similar families or suggestions to refine the classifier.
Finally, you evaluate the results and build your patent landscape and report in PatentSight+.
