RE Cares, our global community programme, supports employee volunteering that symbolizes our commitment for socially responsible business. We’ve been working on Re Cares all the time by encouraging our associates to cultivate a sense of caring and sharing.
Spending quality time with kids is both rewarding and fun. That is why associates from the LexisNexis IP team chose to play rugby matches and paint walls with 40 kids of the Homeless Children Hostel in Gurgaon, India as part of our RE Cares global community programme.
Gurgaon, India, January 17th, 2020.
This time, as a continuation of previous effort, our associates engaged with 40 male children aged 6-15 years at Homeless Children Hostel, Gurgaon in India. Each one of us seek love, attention and care and our team did exactly that with the children. By attempting to write ‘I love you’ in different languages for these children, our associates expressed their concern and shared some memorable moments in bringing smiles to their faces. Spending quality time is the most tangible investment that one can make towards creating relationships, boosting confidence and communicating care.
Our young LexisNexis team invested in playing rugby match with children and tried to contribute towards meeting some of their needs by distributing essentials such as tracksuits, socks, gloves, stationary and toys.
It was a humbling experience to see how a little effort can create such a huge difference among those who are less privileged than us and in turn make us aware of our contribution towards making the world a happier place to live in.
Dancing, playing, painting, cleaning and eating together not only brought hopeful smiles across 40 young faces but also left our team with a lifelong learning on the values of empathy and giving.
