Ethan Eisner is President of Reed Tech, a best-in-class information-based solutions and services to meet the needs of government agencies, the intellectual property market and the life sciences industry. Mr. Eisner’s career with the company spans almost 15 years. Prior to this role, he served as Vice President & Managing Director for Reed Tech, successfully leading the Global Commercial Markets business. He also led the LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions business, focused on serving corporate professionals outside of the legal related functions, including information, sales, marketing and procurement professionals.
Prior to joining LexisNexis, Ethan served as Vice President, Marketing & Product Development for Worknowledge, a training solutions company he helped found. He has also worked as Vice President and General Manager for The Franklin Mint, running the ecommerce and catalog businesses, and as a Case Team Leader with strategy consulting firm Bain & Company, where he worked with the top management of clients to help them realize material competitive advantages to generate substantial, lasting financial impact.
Ethan has an MBA from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Quantitative Analysis from The Pennsylvania State University. Ethan currently serves on the Board of Directors of Connectiv/SIIA where he has previously held the position of Chairman.
Sam Hardman is currently serving as a Strategic Consultant to Reed Tech after nearly 30 years of working at Reed Tech, 17 of those years as President. Mr. Hardman oversaw all components of the Reed Technology business, including the Government, Intellectual Property and Life Sciences business segments.
Prior to serving as president, he worked in various positions within Reed Tech, ranging from technical writing, product management and quality control to operations and executive management. He has significant experience in operational management roles, including expertise in data capture and information lifecycle management.
In 2004, Mr. Hardman led Reed Technology to the largest contract win in the company’s nearly 50-year history—a data capture contract with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office valued at over $1 billion. He has also led the Reed Tech expansion into the Life Sciences information management market, where the company now serves more than 1,000 customers, including many of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
Robert Hahn is responsible for leading and growing the company’s business with the federal government while also setting overall strategic direction in the government market for Reed Tech. With more than 35 years of experience in the defense and civilian agency market sectors, Dr. Hahn focuses on long-term planning, advanced technology integration and program management—especially for security and risk-management issues.
Prior to joining Reed Tech, Dr. Hahn worked at Serco Inc., Pitney Bowes Inc. and also served 21 years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army in a variety of command and staff positions, including as a member of the faculty at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has overseen contracts for major defense and civilian government agency clients, including the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, the United States House of Representatives and the U.S. Military.
Dr. Hahn holds a Ph.D. in Government from Cornell University as well as an M.B.A. in Management from Oklahoma City University and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He currently serves on the Board of the 16th Infantry Regiment Association and leads the team that supports veterans with serious combat injuries.
David Ballai is the CIO and Vice President of Content Operations for Reed Tech. He has overall management responsibility for leading all systems, design and software development, and all data and systems infrastructure and support services while providing technology operations leadership for the Patents, Government, commercial IP and Life Sciences business segments. Included in this responsibility is the oversight of Reed Tech’s content repositories for each of the respective segments.
Mr. Ballai brings more than 30 years of prior records and digital information management experience from a variety of federal and commercial information-based industries, including senior leadership positions with Iron Mountain Records Management and the Pierce Leahy Corporation.
Mr. Ballai earned his MBA in Management from Temple University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Computer Science from Rutgers University. He currently holds several non-profit Board and related positions in the region, including roles as Chairman of the Board with Pearl S. Buck International, and Board Co-chair with Tech Impact. Mr. Ballai is a Computerworld Premier 100 honoree and he and his teams have received a variety of prominent technology industry awards including acknowledgement by Computerworld as an Honors Laureate, multiple CIO100 awards from CIO Magazine, and recognition for three consecutive years as a Top 100 Best Place to Work in IT by IDG Computerworld.
Cindy Kennedy is the Vice President, Operations at Reed Tech, serving in this role for three years. Ms. Kennedy oversees the Patent and Life Sciences operations, with emphasis on productivity, quality and promotion of organizational values and cultures. Ms. Kennedy’s career with Reed Tech spans over 30 years. Prior to her current role, she worked in various management positions with increasing responsibility. She has significant experience in production planning and people management. During her career, Ms. Kennedy led the transition from paper processing to electronic processing of USPTO applications and has led her team to produce documents with a 99.999% accuracy rate while retaining morale and low turnover. Ms. Kennedy received her B.S. in Education from West Chester University and has pursued graduate level courses at LaSalle University.
Michael Ford is the Sr. Director of Human Resources where he is responsible for overseeing, leading and directing the HR function for the Reed Tech organization. Mike has been with Reed Tech for 14 years. Mr. Ford brings more than 28 years of both operational experience and human resources leadership to Reed Tech. Prior to joining the Reed Tech team, Mike spent over 15 years with The National Drying Machinery Company (a leading OEM in the food and chemical processing industries) where he held a number of positions including VP of Human Resources. Prior to that, he worked in HR for The United States Steel Corporation, at that time the world’s largest producer of steel. Mr. Ford received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kutztown University. He is currently on the board of the non-profit Cradles to Crayons and the American Heritage Federal Credit Union.
Michael Langford is the Vice President of Finance for Reed Tech responsible for leading the Accounting, Finance Planning and Analysis, Contract Administration and Site of office services organization.
With over 27 years of experience specializing in Life Science, multinational, finance leadership roles, Mr. Langford has acquired a diverse background of financial, commercial operations and business development expertise that has enabled him to provide financial leadership across functions and markets.
Throughout his career at Bristol-Myers Squibb and ConvaTec, Mr. Langford has worked in both large multinational as well as small carve out/startup environments. He has successfully led numerous project teams that have yielded significant synergies, process improvement driving substantial revenue and profit growth.
Mr. Langford has an MBA from Rider University and his BS in Finance from Fairfield University. He is a founding member, past President and an active board member of a nonprofit youth organization.
